Angels couldn’t buy a win. Drop series opener

Angels baseball has been horrific so far, and today was no excuse. The Angels lose, 8-1.

After a few days of injuries and loss of a few key players the season seems even in more despair. Hector Santiago, started up the game. Fans hoping for a strong outing from Santiago, but their hearts sank when ,Matt Carpenter, opened up the with a solo home run. After 4 innings and a 1/3rd, Santiago, gave up 4 earned runs. After being relieved by, Javier Guerra, came into the game and surrendered 2 runs extending the lead even further. The over worked bullpen came into the game and was not able to keep it close. Frustration conitnues from the pitching staff and tomorrow will not be easy as, Matt Shoemaker, looks to redeem himself after being called back up.

The biggest frustration has to be from the offense. The Halo offense has been horrible. Throughout these last few weeks, we have seen no production or any type of spark from this offense whatsoever. They definitely had plenty of opportunities, but there is no fire in this team. After, going 7 straight shutout innings, a run was socored on a sac fly by, Cole Calhoun. Today’s Angels turned up a mediocre performance and this might be the offense we see for the rest of the season. The offense provides was by the opposing team. The Cardinals, had a day with the pitching staff.  The final score 8-1 Cardinals.

All hope is not lost. We can wait for next year, but the Halos again waste another year with, Mike Trout. There has been rumors of the Angels trading him, but those are extremely unlikely, but look for an upgrade in some department of the Angels staff. The season is not over yet watch the Angels tomorrow @ 7:05 PDT.
