Tonight we received what we expected out of Clayton Kershaw going up against the Angels. Jared Weaver, battled the lefty and put up a decent performance despite the low velocity with the fastball.

The ballgame was underway in sunny SoCal. Weaver and Kershaw matched each other in the first inning both shutting down the sides. Surprisingly, the Angels, struck first in the second inning. With runners at the corners, Shane Robinson, clutched up and singled up the middle, scoring Albert Pujols, from third. The Angels, only held the lead for an inning as they traveled to the third.

Kershaw, gets the first hit off of, Jared Weaver, to start out the inning. Utley, singles to center, Mike Trout, throws out the pitcher trying to take third. After the play, Utley advanced to second, and the weirdest thing happened. Justin Turner, sends a ball to the warning track in centerfield, Mike Trout, goes back and drops the ball! The error by the Angel center fielder cost them a run and Utley scored, the game is tied at one. By this time, Kershaw, is settled into the ballgame and went to work on the Angels lineup.

Kershaw, went eight innings and struck out eleven Angels. Weaver, on the other hand allowed four runs and three earned, through seven innings pitched. The home run ball killed the Halos today. In the fourth inning, Weaver, gave up a two run shot to, Joc Pederson, giving the Dodgers the lead 3-1. Another homer by the Dodger center fielder, and one by, Cory Seager would be the icing on the cake as the Dodgers beat the Angels, 5-1.

On the bright side, we didn’t get no hit by the games best pitcher. We are split against the Dodgers, the rivalry game is taking place in Anaheim. Nick Tropeano, takes the mound tomorrow at the big A against the Dodgers @ 7:05 PDT.
