Angels 6 Rangers 3

April 13th 2015 (Game 007)

ANAHEIM – The Los Angeles Angels get a much-needed win over the Texas Rangers on Monday night. The Angels were swept again by their “new” rivals Royals, and needed a win to get confidence back.

Matt Shoemaker was on the mound for the Angels, and kept the Rangers long ball from happening. Shoemaker went 6.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 earned runs yet pounding out 7 strikeouts and one walk. The Bullpen of the Angels, did not let the Rangers even think of coming back. The bullpen pitched for 2 2/3 innings, allowing 1 hit, 4 strike outs and zero runs to end the game. With the excellent pitching also came the bats. Angels find offense, and have a hitting parade in Texas.

The Angels totaled 12 hits, 1 double, and two homers. Those home runs came from Collin Cowgill his first of the year, and David Freese his third of the season. Matt Joyce and Jimmy Giavotella got in the action with both a couple of hits a piece and a stand up double for Joyce. C.J. Finally saw action on the base path, as he finally got his first hits of the season.  Hopefully this can be a start of a hot streak for the D.H. Cron. The Angels were not down yet as they added some insurance runs in the 9th. Calhoun came in to pinch hit, and delivers a single to bring in Trout.  Angels get the victory 6-3
