The Kansas City Royals Starting Pitcher Jeremy Guthrie will try to forget his last pitching outing, as we last saw him walk sadly off the mound in the 4th inning of Game 7 in the World Series. Guthrie will go against the Star Pitcher for the Angels, Jered Weaver as he has always done well in front of his fans here at Angel Stadium.

Guthrie hopes to help Kansas City open 5-0 for the first time since 2003. Lorenzo Cain and Kendrys Morales were key factors in last nights game, as they both help The Royals score runs on the board. However Kole Calhoun and Erick Aybar went a combined 4-7 with two home runs facing Guthrie last season, and could spark a much-needed Angel offense tonight.

The Angels will give the Ball to Jered Weaver (0-1, 6.00) in hopes he can bounce back from his rocky opening day start. Jered Weaver loves to hear his angel fans, as his last six regular-season meetings at home he put up an outstanding 5-0 record. He also limited the Royals to two runs and three hits over seven innings of 3-2, 11 inning showdown at Angel Stadium.

Starting Lineups

  9. GIAVOTELLA 2B                                                                                 9. INFANTE 2B

WEAVER SP                                                                                                 GUTHRIE SP

It will be another rubber match, yet Jered Weaver at home is unstoppable. I see the Angels finally getting revenge against the Royals and winning this ball game 6-3. Jered Weaver gets his first win of the season, and Calhoun brings some runs in with his bat.
