Brew Crew Serves up Another Loss for the Angels

Updated: May 3, 2016

Angels, give up a four nothing lead. Get beat 5-4 by, the Brewers, as the disappointment flows.

Sometimes perplexing things happen in baseball. It was a whole mess of confusion for our Angels. Nick Tropeano, took the mound and seemed to have a decent showing until the 3rd inning. Tropeano, gave up a hit in what seemed to be having trouble with location. That would be his own undoing after the single, Chris Carter, comes to the plate and smacks a two run home run making it a 4-2 ballgame. The home run ball plagued, Tropeano, he would surrender another two run home run and, Carter, strikes again with a solo home run; all in the 5th inning. Starting pitching has not been strong for our, Angels, and it’s what costs us the last few games. Tropeano, wasn’t completely horrible, its just disappointing that the starting pitching hasn’t held the lead for the Angels.

The offense on the other hand has been up early in the game but coming up late has been a real struggle so far this series. In the first inning, Rafael Ortega, bunted for a single. Then Albert Pujols, hit a long single scoring, Ortega, and thrown out trying to stretch his single into a double.  Ortega, was red-hot today scoring, Cliff Pennigton, from second with another single. With runners on second and first, Mike Trout, doing his thing and doubled, scoring both runs making it a 4-0 game. That is all the offense was able to muster in this performance, although they did have a chance in the 7th inning with bases loaded, no outs, and again unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position. The Brewers offense, came alive and put up 5 runs via the home runs. Final score 5-4 Brewers.

For the fans, this is completely frustrating. This team is  losing to teams that they should beat. The Angels, swept the Royals of all teams and we aren’t seeing that team anymore. The tenacity that described this Halo team is extinguished. Watch the Angels tomorrow, bright and early @10:40 am PDT.
