CJ Wilson To Announce MRI Results Himself

This season just keeps getting more and more gut wrenching for the Angels, and their fans. In the midst of the Angels losing 7 out their last 8 games; CJ Wilson was placed on the 15 day DL due to inflammation in his left elbow. Wilson had an MRI done on his elbow on Friday. To make matters worse Wilson will be announcing his own MRI results later today instead of the team, according to Pedro Moura a reporter for the Orange County Register.

Whenever a player announces their own injury it is never a good sign. It’s possible Wilson could have a tear in his elbow that will require Tommy John surgery. If that is the case Wilson will be out for the rest of the season, and more than likely all of next season too. By the time Wilson recovers from that injury his contract with the Angels will be up.

Keep in mind Wilson is 34 years old, and with a potential Tommy John surgery he may not be back pitching till his age 36 season. It is possible Wilson may announce his retirement from the game if he has to have the surgery.

It is very unlikely Wilson announces that his MRI results revealed no injuries or cause for concern. That would make no sense. Angels’ fans are left with speculation and suspense until Wilson makes his announcement later today.
