FiveThirtyEight predicts the Angels would be 2 GB from division title if they did this

FiveThirtyEight is back at it with their weird and unique stats. This time around, they looked at if each MLB team kept their selected drafted players. Data is from them, not Halo HQ. 

Thanks to data from The Baseball Gauge, we can take a stab at that question. The site tracks how many wins above replacement (WAR) have been produced by players who were originally drafted (or otherwise acquired) by each franchise, which can be easily converted into wins and losses. Here’s how each division would look if teams were stocked exclusively with homegrown players:

I don’t know how they figure this stuff up, but we could be 2.5GB from the division title if we did not trade/sell anyone from our farm system.

Speaking of farm system, when will the Angels finally have a prospect in the Top 100?
