Garrett Richards pulled due to Bicep Cramps

Angels leading the A’s in the bottom of the fifth with runners at the corners, Angel pitcher Garrett Richards exits the game.

Garrett Richards, throwing a shutout into the 5th with 70 plus pitches thrown exits the game. After veteran catcher Martin Maldonado noticed Richards reaction. He immediately called the Angels pitching staff.

With Richards already on thin ice after making a full recover from a UCL injury in his pitching arm. The stem cell research did the trick. Richards shined in his start in today’s game.

Allowing a few base runners on in the 5th inning against Oakland. Richards, immediately goes to cover his throwing arm after throwing a pitch . At first, assumed as a blister, the training staff arrived quickly.

Pointing to his throwing arm near the bicep/elbow area. He was removed and relieved by Jose Alvarez.

Update:

  1. Garrett Richards was pulled from tonight’s game due to bicep cramps. As a precaution, the Angels removed him from the he game to prevent any other injury.
