It’s Time To Party, Angels Will Bounce Back With Indians In Town

Updated: August 3, 2015

The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim had probably one of the worst weeks in their season as they got swept by the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. However enough with the bad, and let’s look at the next series. Everybody knows the Angels can bounce back and will do so against the Cleveland Indians. Let’s take a look at the good match-ups the Angels will have against the Indians. Angel Fans, It’s Time To Party!

Game 1: Monday August 3rd

For the Indians they will send up to the mound Corey Kluber (6-11 3.44 ERA) as he will go up against one of the Angels Ace’s Garret Richards. (10-8 3.37 ERA) This will be the second hardest matchup for the Angels this series, as Kluber was last years AL CY Young Winner, and is usually red hot in July. However do not fear, because half of the Angels Lineup has seen Kluber pitch, and the Indians have not seen Richards pitch live yet. Richards took full responsible for the Angels 6-3 loss against the Astros last Wednesday and we will be heading back to Anaheim with a chip on his shoulder. Erick Aybar, David DeJesus, Connor Gillaspie, and Chris Iannetta have seen Kluber pitch and all have above  a .333 batting average against him. Angels will need every fan on their feet to welcome them back after a tough stretch, and I see them ending their losing streak monday night.

Game 2: Tuesday August 4th

The Angels will send up the hottest pitcher right now to the mound as Matt Shoemaker (5-7 4.24 ERA) will hope to extend his no runs allowed since the All-Star Break on Tuesday night. Shoemaker will go up against Carlos Carrasco (11-8 4.03 ERA) the Indians stud as he hopes to get his 12th win of the season. Carrasco is a hit or miss, some pitching outings he can go a complete game, or like his last outing he can give up 6 runs in 4 Innings. Shoemaker has been unstoppable since the All-Star break and if the Angels win on monday night, the whole team will have all this “hate and negativity” lifted off their shoulders and will play better baseball. The Angels will only win this game if they attack Carrasco early, if they let Carrasco settle in, he will go the distance against them. It’s a toss up, if Shoemaker stays hot, the Angels will make it two in a row.

Game 3: Wednesday August 5th

Did someone say sweep? Just kidding, let’s not get to ahead of ourselves now. This will be the toughest challenge for the Angels, and if they somehow win the first two games, they will carry this momentum against the Indians red hot pitcher Danny Salazer (9-6 3.47 ERA) Now try not to get scared from his stats, but this righty has a 1.53 ERA and .139 batting average in his last four outings. Scary right? However the Angels will send up their rising star Hector Santiago (7-5 2.70 ERA) Yes Santiago has allowed nine runs in ten innings in his last two outings, but this season is a whole new Santiago. Santiago has bounced back before and could on Wednesday night. Santiago at home is near perfect. Santiago’s record at home is 3-1 with a 1.25 ERA. The only lost Santiago received at home was on opening day against the Royals. Santiago needs to bounce back and continue his hot streak at home. Will he? Did I hear a Sweep?

Whatever the results may be, the Angels have great match-ups every single day. Either way Angel fans, It’s time to party because the future looks great. It may be against a team that does not have a chance to make it to the playoffs, but a win is needed to help this team out. For the Angels right now, forget what happened last week, as it’s time to party as they face the 38-56 Cleveland Indians.
