Mike Trout Aims To Be Back In Lineup Tomorrow

Angels’ superstar Mike Trout was on the sidelines for the second straight game today. He is still going through mild left hamstring tightness. Although his health is not perfect right now, Maria Guardado recently heard from Mike that the injury is nothing that he cannot handle.

“‘I feel good this morning,’ Trout said prior to the Halos’ series finale against the Astros at Angel Stadium. ‘After the day off [Thursday], I felt good. It just tightened up on me a bit yesterday. I’ll get some treatment on it today and hopefully play tomorrow.’”

The prolific 25-year-old is currently amidst a career best 17 game hitting streak. Due to the extended streak, his batting average is at a robust .355. This tally is far beyond that of anyone else on the Halos’ roster.

Since 2013, he has clearly been one of baseball’s healthiest players. In the last four years he logged no less than 157 games each season. Therefore, to ever see the young man miss a game is incredibly uncommon. He is just about as close to extraterrestrial as one could ever hope to find.

In addition to these last two contests, Trout did not participate in Thursday’s contest on account of the same hamstring problem. The outfielder is never a fan of having to sit out, yet he would rather not take too big of a gamble. In spite of the injury, he remains optimistic about being back as soon as tomorrow.

“‘I always want to play,’ Trout said. ‘It was tough being in the lineup yesterday and coming out. I would rather take two days now than be out for a while. I should be ready to go tomorrow.’”

At the time being Trout is considered day-to-day status wise. The team’s skipper had the following to say when asked about the condition of the ball club’s franchise player.

“‘We anticipate it getting better, not worse,’ manager Mike Scioscia said. ‘As long as he moves in the right direction, we’re going to evaluate him every day to see when he’s ready to play. But we hope it’s not too long.’”
