ANAHEIM – Jered Weaver is going to be searching for answers after last nights rough outing against the red hot Royals. The three-time All-Star gave up home runs to Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez during a five-run fourth inning on saturday night. That is all the Royals needed as they continue to crush the Angels away from home 6-4. The Los Angeles Angels wasted a leadoff homer and two-run double by Kole Calhoun, which Weaver could not hold the lead at all. Weaver threw 85 pitches over 4 1-3 innings and was charged with six runs, seven hits and four walks after striking out the first six batters. The Angels had everything going their way, until the fourth inning.

The Royals sent nine men to the plate in the fourth and took a 5-1 lead. Moustakas led off with a drive deep into the seats in right field, Alex Rios hit a go-ahead two-run single and Perez with the cherry on top capped the rally with a two-out, two-run homer just inside the left field pole.

The only Angels offense came from Kole Calhoun, who was the only one to get any type of solid contact against Guthrie. Guthrie threw 94 pitches in his season debut, allowing four runs and six hits over seven innings. Everybody saw him walking slowly to the dugout, after giving the Giants the lead in Game 7 of the World Series, yet Guthrie is starting off the new season by defeating the team he saw in the post-season last year.
