Rough day at the ballpark for plenty of pitchers. Skaggs is actually hittable, Walker and each team’s bullpen struggled to find outs. The Angels fell short I what seemed like a for sure victory.
Mike Trout is carrying fire, he crushed a ball for another 2 run home run to give the Angels an early lead in the first. Skaggs turns out to be human. He surrenders a run after 29 scoreless innings.
The onslaught didn’t stop there. A triple by Trout brought in another run. Then a sac fly by Albert have the Angels a 5-1 lead.
Skaggs clearly off his game, struggled against the Mariner team. Giving up a total of three home runs. These runs added up soon the Mariners were down by two runs. A stellar hold by Mike Morin. Coming in with the bases load with only one out.
Morin fights his way out of inning still holding the lead by two. It wasn’t until the seventh where disaster struck. Jose Valdez making his Angel debut walked the bases loaded with one out. Guerra able to get at least one out before a home run.
Former Angel Shawn O’Malley one used his former team with a three run drive to right field. The Angels blow another three run lead for the second consecutive game. Seems like former Angels have it out for their old team.
The lineup is all out of juice I’m late innings couldn’t muster the strength to tie it. I guess the bright side would be seeing Griffey Jr. getting his number retired.
The team is struggling to maintain any lead. Sadly, we aren’t getting any production from the pitching staff hopefully with Matty Shoe will get the Angels back on track with a pitching performance tomorrow.
Let’s hope they get the hang of it tomorrow to avoid being swept.
