The Angels win the first homestead of the series against their cross town rivals, the Dodgers. Nick Tropeano, battled his way through seven innings. Angels, got work done tonight with the final score 8-1.
If the Angels wanted to win today they needed to score first and early against, the Dodgers. Mike Trout, started the hit parade, with a solo shot to left field giving them the lead early on. The Angels passed up many scoring opportunities in the second and third inning.
The missed opportunites would huant the Angels, as the Dodgers, were able to tie the ballgame in the fourth inning, thanks to, Joc Pederson. It wasn’t until the fifth inning, the Angels, really opened up the ballgame. Escobar, started off the inning with a single up the middle. Both, Trout and Pujols, walk to load the bases loaded for, Cron. Cron, reached on an infield single scoring, Escobar, following the single, Giavotella, reached on an error by, Howie Kendrick, socring another run. The Angels, did not stop their, Ortega, doubled to left, Pujols and cron scored, Giavotella to third. After the double, Carlos Perez, wanted in on the action and hit a sac fly to right, scoring Giavotella.
Nick Tropeano, was a bulldog this game. He fought to win every single. Even when, Tropeano, got himself into trouble, we saw grit and pure will power to get a win. Plus, Tropeano, finally got past the sixth innig reaching the seventh for the first time in his career. The final score was 8-1 Halos.
The finale of the freeway series is tomorrow! If the Halos can put up a repeat performance, against the Dodgers, they can ensure a win. Even with back up players the Halos can still score and win games. Watch the Halos tomorrow @ 7:05. Jhoulys chacin takes the mound in the finale.
