Mike Trout Not in the Home Run Derby, Again

Mike Trout, the star of the Los Angeles Angels, has decided to not participate in the 2016 Home run Derby for another consecutive year.

Honestly, who didn’t see this coming? Mike Trout, the man who swings for power but runs as fast as a running-back. He will not join the MLB’s finest sluggers in a media frenzied home run derby. That is definitely alright. Every fan is familiar with the myth that follow after the derby. A sudden regression of hitting due to them participating in the derby. Perfect examples: Bryce Harper, David Wright, Chris Davis, Josh Hamilton, Bobby Abreu, and the list goes on. It really hasn’t had a major impact on the players in general just enough to show the impact on the stars that participate. Even with a slight decline its enough to snowball, and that’s not what the Angels need. Trout will be in the All-star game fighting for another MVP.
